Job summary

MILES Mobility in Berlin is seeking an experienced QA automation engineer to own end-to-end test automation for mobile, web, and APIs. You will design test strategies, implement robust CI pipelines, and ensure release readiness with rigorous validation.

You will work with TypeScript/JavaScript and Python, use Playwright, Appium, and Postman, and contribute to performance, security, and data quality. This role is Berlin-based and offers modern tooling, a collaborative culture, and growth

Qualifications

• 5+ years in QA automation, site reliability or a closely related engineering role.
• Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and Python with backend/frontend/db concepts.
• Experience automating mobile and web end-to-end tests with Appium, Playwright, etc.
• CI pipeline authoring and data validation using SQL.

test design to production monitoring. You build the automation, define what release-
ready means, and contribute to the final human sign-off before each release.

Your Responsibility

• Design test strategy and acceptance criteria together with development and product
• Build and maintain mobile and web end-to-end automation and run it in CI
• Test APIs and backend services, including contract and data validation
• Run performance, load and security testing across mobile, web and APIs
• Assist in release validation and the final human sign-off on every release
• Set up production monitoring and follow findings through to a fix
• Effectively deploy and use AI agents

Your Experience

• 5+ years in QA automation, site reliability or a closely related engineering role
• Proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript and Python, and a firm grasp of backend, frontend and database concepts
• Mobile end-to-end automation with Appium, Detox or Maestro on iOS and Android
• Web end-to-end automation with Playwright; Selenium or Cypress also welcome
• API, performance and security testing, including OWASP basics, with tools such as Postman and k6
• CI pipeline authoring, such as GitLab CI or GitHub Actions, and SQL for data validation
• Clear bug reports and acceptance criteria that others can act on
• A valid driving licence (EU category B or equivalent); testing the product includes trips on the road.

Highly desired

• Experience in mobility, logistics or another operations-heavy consumer product
• Testing payment flows in a consumer or business product
• Monitoring and observability tooling for production systems
• Writing test code in Go or another typed backend language
• GDPR-aware test data handling
• Accessibility and usability testing
