The role includes login and permissions, governance, APIs, integrations and monitoring, with significant collaboration with Product to shape outcomes.
A candidate should have shipped customer‑facing software, run busy SaaS systems and discuss users and outcomes as part of their work, not just code.
This role is about building full stack features in TypeScript, Node.js and Vue or React that make the product safer and easier to run for large organizations. The work covers areas like login and permissions, governance, APIs, integrations and monitoring, with a lot of back and forth with Product. A strong candidate has shipped customer-facing software, has run busy SaaS systems, and talks about users and outcomes as much as code.
Automation platforms are now where AI agents get built and run, so the enterprise controls around them matter more: who can use what, what gets logged, and how changes reach production safely. AI tools can speed up routine coding, tests and debugging, but the judgment on security trade-offs, reliability and what large customers actually need stays with the engineer. Careful design of permissions and auditing is something an AI assistant cannot own for you.
The product is a workflow platform where teams build AI agents, so the work sits close to how companies put AI into real processes. Someone in this role would learn how agents are governed, observed and secured at scale. To prepare, build a few workflows on the free cloud version, including one that uses an AI step, and note where access control or monitoring would need to be stronger.
