Amadeus in Herzogenrath near Aachen seeks a Senior Java Software Development Engineer to help power travel bookings at scale. You will design, develop, and maintain cloud-native services using Java, Spring Boot, GraphQL, and Kubernetes in an Agile Scrum team.

You will translate business needs into robust designs, optimize databases, run tests, and contribute to technical leadership. The role offers a hybrid work model, opportunities to learn, and a supportive environment within a global travel

Formación

• Solid experience in Java development.
• Experience with GraphQL.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and cloud-native architectures.
• Hands-on experience working in Scrum teams.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled engineering workflows and software delivery practices.

As part of an agile team, you will:

• Build the technology that powers holiday travel in the world's leading travel markets. Develop code used by the world's leading tour operators and travel agencies.
• Ensure rock-solid performance and reliability in a complex technical environment.
• Drive the evolution of travel by building the next generation of leisure travel solutions.

Summary of the role

Leverage a modern technology stack including Java, Spring Boot, GraphQL, Kubernetes, and cloud-native platforms.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable software solutions and cloud-based services within an agile Scrum team.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs, conduct feasibility studies, and recommend robust implementation approaches.
• Develop high-quality, maintainable code, design and optimize databases, and ensure alignment with Amadeus engineering standards.
• Perform unit, integration, and performance testing, support production issue resolution, and drive continuous quality improvements.
• Contribute to technical leadership through solution design, knowledge sharing, documentation, and collaboration with Product Management and cross-functional teams.
