Job summary

Amer Sports is seeking a Senior IT PMO Consultant in Garching near Munich to govern and report on strategic IT projects and programs. You will partner with project teams, senior stakeholders, and leadership to drive portfolio transparency, improve PMO processes, and ensure projects meet defined governance standards.

You will lead the preparation of executive-level materials, translate complex data into clear messages, and support the adoption of PMO tools across teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of PMO, project management, or governance experience.
• Experience supporting large IT projects or programs.
• Strong understanding of project governance, portfolio management, and reporting practices.
• Excellent PowerPoint skills for executive-ready presentations and steering committee materials.
• Fluency in English; German is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, track and report on the performance and health of the IT project portfolio, ensuring risks and deviations are identified and escalated in a timely manner.
• Support project governance by ensuring key deliverables are backed by approved business cases and comply with defined quality standards and project gates.
• Act as a PMO consultant for strategic and business-critical projects and programs.
• Prepare and quality-assure executive-level reporting and decision-making materials for senior leadership, including steering committees and executive stakeholders.
• Work closely with program and project leads to translate complex project information into clear, concise, and actionable messages.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of PMO processes, templates, reporting practices, and project management tools.
• Administer and further develop project and test management tools, including Jira and Xray, while supporting their adoption across project teams.
• Support the definition and implementation of project management standards, governance practices, and reporting frameworks.
• Lead selected projects or workstreams when required.
• Serve as a key user and advanced support contact for PMO tools and processes.

As a Senior IT PMO Consultant, you will support the governance, reporting, and successful delivery of strategic IT projects and programs across Amer Sports. What you need to succeed

• 5+ years of experience in PMO, project management, program management, or project governance roles, preferably within IT or technology‑driven environments.
• Hands‑on experience supporting large‑scale projects, programs, or transformation initiatives.
• Strong understanding of project governance, portfolio management, and reporting practices.
• Excellent PowerPoint skills with the ability to create executive‑ready presentations and steering committee materials.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to translate data into meaningful insights and recommendations.
• Experience with project and portfolio management tools such as Jira, Xray, MS Project, Planner, or similar platforms.
• Good understanding of software delivery processes and IT project environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to work effectively with senior leaders.
• A consulting mindset with the ability to structure complex topics, challenge constructively, and drive continuous improvement.
• Fluency in English; German is an advantage.
• A collaborative way of working, contributing to shared progress within a team.
