Amazon Deutschland Services GmbH in Munich is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our accounting organization and become a major contributor to the team. You will drive month-end close, GAAP alignment, and cross-functional business partnering with global teams.

You will build scalable financial models, support process improvements, and coordinate with international stakeholders in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field, or equivalent experience in finance roles.
• Knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, or local GAAP frameworks and ability to apply them in day-to-day activities.
• Experience supporting month-end closing processes and financial reporting.
• Experience with controls or audits over financial reporting environments.
• Experience using financial models, KPIs, and data analysis to support decisions.
• Fluent in English (speaking, writing, reading).

Key job responsibilities

• Being a strong team player taking ownership and demonstrating self-initiative
• Drive or participate in national and international accounting projects
• Business partnering within the Amazon group
• Develop and manage scalable and automated processes
• International coordination with the global Accounting organization
• Responsibility for month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing of financial books.
• Assessment and evaluation of GAAP-to-GAAP differences
• Support improvements in accounting processes, internal workflows and implementation of best practices

A day in the life

You might start your morning reviewing the latest financial data, identifying variances, and diving into root causes before your first meeting. From there, you could be refining a financial model that supports an upcoming business review, collaborating with business partners to understand their challenges, or working on an automation project that will save your team hours of manual effort each month. You will regularly share your analysis with leaders and contribute to team knowledge through documentation and mentoring.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field, or experience or equivalent experience in finance roles
• Knowledge of one or multiple accounting frameworks (including US GAAP, IFRS, or local GAAP frameworks), with the ability to apply them in day-to-day financial activities
• Experience supporting month-end closing processes and contributing to financial reporting under established procedures
• Experience supporting the implementation of controls or contributing to audits over financial reporting environments
• Experience using financial models, KPIs, and data analysis to support business decisions
• Speak, write, and read fluently in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent)
• Experience developing financial models in Excel with advanced functions (pivot tables, macros, VBA, Power Query)
• Experience with data analytics platforms (Power BI, Python, SQL, Tableau)
