Job summary

OMMAX GmbH is seeking a data science professional to lead data science and applied ML projects from discovery to production, delivering measurable business impact. You will work directly with client stakeholders to break down challenges, define success metrics, and craft simple analytical approaches.

Strong Python skills and experience with ML/LLM frameworks are essential in a client-facing role based in a hybrid Munich setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering.
• 2–6 years of experience in data science, machine learning, or advanced analytics, including exposure to Generative AI.
• Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with ML and LLM frameworks such as Scikit-learn, LangChain, or Hugging Face.
• Solid understanding of machine learning techniques and Generative AI use cases.
• Ability to work in client-facing environments and communicate complex topics clearly.
• Fluent in English; additional local language skills are a plus.

• You work directly with client stakeholders and domain experts to decompose ambiguous business challenges, define success measures, and identify the simplest effective analytical approach.
• You build, validate, and deploy predictive, optimization, classification, and advanced analytics solutions using robust statistical and machine learning methods.
• You design evaluation frameworks that connect model performance with operational usability, risk, cost, and business outcomes.
• You collaborate with data engineers, AI engineers, software teams, and users to embed models into real workflows and iterate based on production feedback.
• You communicate assumptions, limitations, trade-offs, and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• You turn project learnings into reusable analytical assets, methodologies, and delivery standards and support the development of less experienced colleagues.

What we require:

• You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering.
• You have 2–6 years of experience in data science, machine learning, or advanced analytics, including exposure to Generative AI.
