Job summary

OMMAX GmbH is seeking an AI engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable AI platforms and backend services. You will develop reusable AI frameworks, APIs, and tooling, and work on deployment pipelines and model serving infrastructure.

You will collaborate with Forward Deployed AI Engineers to support client implementations and continuously improve engineering standards, platform capabilities, and workflows. A hybrid work model applies, with offices in Munich and other cities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science or related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in AI engineering or software development, with exposure to Generative AI.
• Strong programming skills in Python.

Job description

• You design, build, and optimize scalable AI platforms, backend services, and engineering capabilities that enable enterprise-grade AI solutions.
• You develop reusable AI frameworks, APIs, platform components, and engineering tooling using modern software engineering best practices.
• You build and maintain AI deployment pipelines, model serving infrastructure, monitoring capabilities, and operational tooling for production environments.
• You drive engineering excellence by improving scalability, reliability, security, performance, and maintainability across AI systems.
• You collaborate closely with Forward Deployed AI Engineers to provide the technical foundations required for successful client implementations.
• You evaluate emerging AI technologies and continuously improve engineering standards, platform capabilities, and development workflows.
• You mentor engineers through technical reviews, knowledge sharing, and engineering best practices.

What we require:

• You hold a degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.
• You have 3–6 years of experience in AI engineering or software development, including exposure to Generative AI.
• You have strong programming skills in languages such as Python.
• You are familiar with ML frameworks and Generative AI tools such as PyTorch, LangChain, or vector databases.
• You have experience with cloud platforms and containerisation tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• You are fluent in English; additional local language skills are a plus.
