Job summary

Velocity Tech is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to own the core architecture and development of an AI coding agent platform. You will work with AI agents, LLM-powered systems, and agent frameworks to build production-grade software in a remote setup based in Germany.

You will design scalable agent orchestration, secure sandbox environments, and robust evaluation frameworks while shaping architectural decisions for a live AI platform. Fluency in English is essential; German is a bonus.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience developing AI Agents, LLM-powered systems or agent frameworks.
• Experience with sandboxing, containers, microVMs or isolated execution environments.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, state machines, orchestration and concurrency.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, testing and system design.
• Fluent English; German language skills are advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop AI coding agents using Python, FastAPI and asyncio.
• Build and scale agent orchestration systems, including long-running sessions, state management and recovery.
• Work with Claude Agent SDK, OpenAI Codex SDK, LangGraph and other agent frameworks.
• Develop secure sandbox environments using microVMs, Firecracker, Docker or similar technologies.
• Build robust evaluation frameworks to test agent performance, reliability and cost.
• Take genuine technical ownership of a live AI platform, influencing architecture and engineering decisions.

I'm working with an innovative, growing technology business building a sophisticated AI coding agent platform, and they're looking for a Senior AI Engineer to take ownership of its core architecture and development. This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of Agentic AI, LLMs and autonomous coding systems, building production-grade technology rather than experimental AI prototypes.

The Opportunity
