Job description

Founded in 1981, TCL Electronics (HKSE stock code 01070) is a leading consumer electronics company with 25,000 employees in 78 countries. The group, which specialises in LCD televisions, is one of the world’s leading TV manufacturers. TCL Electronics has developed highly specialised expertise, favouring vertical integration and end-to-end product development and manufacturing. TCL’s slogan, “The Creative Life”, sets the tone.

Present in Europe since 2007, TCL operates across major European markets. Our teams contribute to the development and daily growth of TCL in Europe in an environment that encourages initiative, ownership, professional development and equal opportunities.

The Role

We are looking for a Retail POS Development Manager to support the development and execution of TCL’s offline retail presence across Germany and the DACH region. The role is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of retail fixtures, shop-in-shop concepts, displays and POS materials, from business request and design adaptation through production, logistics, in-store installation, acceptance, maintenance and renewal. The role also owns the planning, coordination and tracking of in-store presentation for new product launches, and supports TCL’s offline marketing activities, including trade fairs and exhibitions.

Working closely with Sales, Key Account Management, Marketing, Retail, Product teams, retailers and external suppliers, the successful candidate will ensure that TCL’s brand image and product presentation are executed consistently, on time, within budget and to a high quality standard at store level. MediaMarkt is a key retail channel for TCL in Germany, and a significant part of the role involves frequent, direct communication with MediaMarkt at store level.

Key Accountabilities
  • Retail POS Development & Execution: Manage the rollout, renovation and upgrade of TCL retail spaces across Germany and the DACH region, including shop-in-shop areas, TV walls, product displays, display furniture, backwalls, lightboxes, branded fixtures and other in-store installations.
  • POSM & Retail Material Management: Coordinate permanent and temporary POS materials such as product information displays, price communication, signage, stickers, posters, lightboxes and other retail marketing materials. Manage specifications, quantities, production, delivery, installation, replacement and usage.
  • End-to-End Project Management: Own retail implementation projects from initial request to final handover, including store information collection, site surveys and measurements, design and technical drawing validation, quotations, production follow-up, logistics, delivery scheduling, installation coordination, store acceptance and project documentation.
  • Retailer & Store Coordination (MediaMarkt Focus): Act as TCL’s day-to-day contact for MediaMarkt at store level, maintaining frequent and direct communication with store managers, department/category managers and sales floor staff across the MediaMarkt store network. Align with stores on space allocation, display positions, installation windows, access procedures and store-specific conditions, and build strong, long-term working relationships at store level. Ensure compliance with the requirements of MediaMarkt and other retail partners, and work closely with internal Sales and Key Account teams to translate commercial priorities agreed at headquarters level into executable in-store solutions.
  • New Product Launch In-store Presentation: Plan, coordinate and track the in-store presentation of new product launches. Together with Product, Marketing, Sales and Key Account teams, define launch display plans covering target stores, display positions, fixtures, POSM, quantities and timelines. Coordinate production, delivery and installation so that new products are presented correctly in store by launch date. Track execution store by store through store visits, photo reporting and store feedback; report on launch readiness and coverage; and follow up on any gaps with stores and suppliers.
  • Offline Marketing Activities & Trade Fairs: Coordinate and support TCL’s offline marketing activities, including trade fairs and exhibitions (e.g. IFA Berlin), retailer and partner events, in-store promotions and roadshows. In cooperation with Marketing, support booth and stand planning, stand construction and supplier coordination, logistics for products and display materials, on-site setup and dismantling, and post-event follow-up and documentation.
  • Supplier Management: Manage shopfitting, fixture, printing, logistics and installation suppliers. Support supplier sourcing, quotation comparison, price negotiation and performance evaluation, with a focus on quality, lead time, responsiveness and cost competitiveness.
  • Budget & Cost Control: Manage project budgets and review supplier quotations. Track actual project costs and support purchase orders, invoices and cost documentation in cooperation with Procurement and Finance.
  • Brand Standards & Quality Control: Ensure TCL global and European retail and brand guidelines are correctly implemented in the DACH market. Adapt concepts to local retailer environments and technical constraints while maintaining brand consistency. Conduct on-site or photo-based quality checks and manage corrective actions when required.
  • Maintenance & Store Updates: Monitor the condition of existing TCL retail installations and coordinate repair, replacement, relocation or upgrade of damaged or outdated fixtures and POS materials. Support seasonal campaigns and retail refresh projects.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Key Account Management, Marketing, Product, Retail, Procurement and Finance teams to ensure projects are delivered according to commercial priorities and launch timelines.
Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in Retail, Marketing, Project Management, Interior Design, Industrial Design, Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • 3–5+ years of relevant experience in retail POS development, retail execution, shopfitting, visual merchandising implementation, trade marketing or retail project management, ideally within consumer electronics, home appliances, mobile, IT or a comparable branded retail environment.
  • Good understanding of the German and/or DACH consumer electronics retail landscape. Experience working directly with MediaMarkt, especially at store level, is a strong advantage, as the role requires extensive and ongoing communication with MediaMarkt stores.
  • Hands-on experience with shop-in-shop projects, retail fixtures, displays, POSM and in-store installation projects.
  • Experience planning, coordinating and tracking in-store presentation for new product launches across a large number of stores.
  • Experience coordinating trade fairs, exhibitions or other offline marketing events (booth construction, logistics, on-site execution) is an advantage.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple store projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Good understanding of the full implementation process from design and quotation through production, logistics, installation and final acceptance.
  • Experience in supplier management, quotation analysis, cost control and commercial negotiation.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, coordination and problem-solving skills, with a practical and hands-on working style. Confident in dealing with store managers and sales floor teams on a daily basis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to understand floor plans, technical drawings or basic CAD files is an advantage.
  • Fluent German (business level, as daily communication with stores is in German) and good professional English are required. Chinese language skills are an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel regularly within Germany, including frequent MediaMarkt store visits and trade fair attendance, and across the DACH region when required.
