Zusammenfassung

Teoresi Group in Mannheim is seeking a Safety Engineer to support safety assurance activities across railway projects and operations, ensuring compliance with EN 50126/28/29 and related standards, and guiding safety processes through the system lifecycle.

You will perform hazard analyses, prepare Safety Cases, coordinate with engineering teams and regulatory bodies, and contribute to continuous safety improvements while communicating effectively with internal customers.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Control Systems or equivalent).
• 2+ years' experience in Rail Engineering and safety engineering within railway sector.
• Experience with rail subsystems (TCMS, signaling, onboard systems).
• Familiarity with EN 50126/50128/50129 and EU/International railway safety regs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• German language proficiency (B2) required.

Aufgaben

• Support safety assurance during design, integration, testing, and operation phases.

• Monitor compliance with safety requirements and contractual obligations; support incident investigations.

This position is planned for various locations including Mannheim, Salzgitter, Kassel.

We are seeking a highly motivated Safety Engineer to support safety assurance activities within railway projects and operations. The role involves ensuring compliance with applicable safety standards, regulations, and industry best practices, as well as supporting the development, implementation, and monitoring of safety processes throughout the system lifecycle.

Your Tasks:

• Conduct safety analyses (e.g., hazard identification, risk assessment, FMEA, FTA) to ensure system safety and compliance with railway safety standards.
• Prepare and review Safety Cases and associated documentation in accordance with EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129, and related standards.
• Support safety assurance activities during design, integration, testing, and operation phases.
• Liaise with engineering teams, project managers, and external stakeholders (e.g., certification bodies, regulatory authorities).
• Monitor and verify compliance with safety requirements and contractual obligations.Contribute to incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Provide technical input for continuous improvement of safety processes and procedures.
• Reporting to Customer internal team

Your Profile:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Control Systems, or equivalent).
• >2 year of experience in Rail Engineering
• Proven experience with Rail sub-systems, in specific TCMS, Signaling and other on-board electric / electronic devices
• Proven experience in safety engineering within the railway sector (rolling stock, signalling, or infrastructure).
• Knowledge of CENELEC standards (EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129) and applicable EU/International railway safety regulations. (i.e. CSM application / REG 402)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and manage interfaces with various stakeholders.
• Your communication skills are:
• fluent in German: B2 certification is required and spoken capability assessed or more
