Job summary

Orizon GmbH is seeking an Research & Technology Engineer for advanced thermoplastic composites at Hamburg / Finkenwerder to join Airbus Operations. You will conduct R&D on materials, processes and structural applications for aerospace, coordinating with design, stress and manufacturing teams across Europe.

The position emphasizes experimental campaigns, material characterization and transitioning technologies from research to industrial use, with travel approximately every two weeks within

Qualifications

• Completed studies in Engineering, Composites or comparable.
• Experience in Research & Development, Manufacturing Engineering and Material Testing.
• Experience with thermoplastic materials.
• Experience with advanced manufacturing techniques such as AFP, welding, or stamp forming of thermoplastics is desirable.
• Proficiency in material characterization techniques (DMA, DSC, FTIR) is a plus.
• User skills in Google Workspace.
• Fluent German and English skills spoken and written.
• Willingness to travel (approximately every two weeks; within Europe, mainly Bremen and Stade).

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical reports and presentations detailing R&T findings and recommendations.
• Support the transition of developed technologies from research to industrial application.
• Contribute to intellectual property development through patent applications and technical disclosures.

• Experience in Thermoplastic Materials
• Experience with advanced manufacturing techniques such as automated fiber placement (AFP), welding, or stamp forming of thermoplastics is highly desirable
• Proficiency in material characterization techniques (e.g. DMA, DSC, FTIR) is a plus
• User skills in Google Workspace
• Fluent German and English skills spoken and written
• Willingness to travel (approximately every two weeks; within Europe, mainly Bremen and Stade)
