Jobtailor in Mannheim is seeking an experienced Bid & Proposal Engineer or Technical Lead to act as the technical offer lead for integrated electrical system solutions. You will guide the bid process and coordinate with the sales team to address customer requirements.

The role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering, fluency in German and English, and several years of relevant experience. You will develop detailed technical descriptions, evaluate costs, and prepare comprehensive proposals

• Fluency in German and English.
• Several years of experience as Bid & Proposal Engineer or Technical Lead.
• Expertise in HV up to 110 kV, MV/LV switchgear, transformers and UPS.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Contribute expertise to address customer requirements and develop optimal solutions
• Prepare detailed technical descriptions, evaluate costs, and compile proposal documentation
• Provide technical advice for inquiries regarding ABB products, systems, and applications
• Perform analytical studies to identify suitable technical solutions
• Support the sales team during technical meetings and product presentations
• Assist in identifying technically appropriate and cost‑effective solutions
• Prepare comprehensive proposals including hardware cost calculations and risk analyses

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
• Fluency in German and English
• Several years of relevant professional experience as a Bid & Proposal Engineer or Technical Lead
• Solid expertise in electrical systems such as HV switchgear up to 110 kV, MV/LV switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, high‑power rectifiers and inverters, as well as containerized, E‑house, or concrete station solutions
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and maintain a responsible and structured approach to tasks
• High level of self‑motivation, curiosity, and enthusiasm for learning about new technologies
• Collaborative and solution‑oriented mindset with strong written and verbal communication skills
