Zusammenfassung

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced electrical and hardware planning engineer to lead specification development for power electronics in large-scale process facilities. You will ensure compliance with European and North American standards and coordinate with suppliers.

The role emphasizes CAD-based design, BOM preparation, and advanced protection concepts, with responsibilities across FEED, basic and detailed design phases and project cost oversight.

Qualifikationen

Aufgaben

• Preparation of technical specifications for power electronics and hardware planning according to regional grid conditions
• Design and preparation of specifications for power supply units per IEC, CE, ATEX standards
• Development of electrical system architectures, single-line diagrams and field cabling
• Collaborate in teams to develop products in MW electrolyser module area
• Design and development of complex busbar and cable connections
• Support plant layouts with electrical design considerations
• Prepare equipment specifications (transformers, rectifiers, switchgear/panels)
• Approve and review design documentation (cable plans, load lists)
• Be the point of contact for electrical engineering queries
• Prepare BOMs and single-line diagrams
• Execute cable calculations
• Carry out risk assessments for quality and safety
• Review documentation produced by external engineering offices
• Technical evaluation of power supply units and supplier selection
• Manage FEED, basic and detailed design phases and communication with suppliers
• Manage budget, schedule and quality objectives and determine total plant cost
• Manage supplier documentation during tender phase and project execution

Responsibilities

• Preparation of technical specifications for power electronics and hardware planning, taking into account regional grid connection conditions and project requirements
• Design and preparation of specifications for power supply units based on international design codes and standards (IEC, NE, ATEX, CE)
• Development of electrical system architectures, electrical system requirements, circuit diagrams, wiring harness drawings, single‑line diagrams and field cabling
• Collaboration in teams to develop new products in the MW electrolyser module area
• Design and development of complex busbar and cable connections
• Support in the development of plant layouts with consideration of electrical design
• Preparation of equipment specifications (transformers, rectifiers, switchgear/panels)
• Approval, review and preparation of design documentation (e.g., cable plans, single‑line diagrams, load lists)
• Point of contact for electrical engineering queries
• Preparation of bills of materials/equipment lists and single‑line diagrams
• Execution of cable calculations
• Risk assessments to ensure the quality and safety of our products
• Review of technical documentation produced by external engineering offices
• Technical evaluation of power supply units and final supplier selection based on qualitative, technical and commercial considerations
• Management of FEED, basic and detailed design phases and technical follow‑up and communication with suppliers
• Management of budget, schedule and quality objectives and determination of total plant cost in collaboration with other teams and suppliers
• Management of supplier documentation during the tender phase and throughout project execution

Requirements

• Degree in engineering
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical and hardware planning for process engineering in large‑scale plants
• Comprehensive knowledge of current European and North American standards and regulations in the field of electrical engineering
• Experience with electrical protection concepts
• Experience working with technical documentation and specifications
• Familiarity with hardware planning using CAD systems
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong organizational and management skills and a proactive work approach
• IT proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Strong analytical understanding and critical thinking, with flexibility and problem‑solving skills
