For our renowned customer Airbus Defence and Space you are acting as Product Owner for Sensor Management Capabilities within the mission systems organization. This position is located in Ingolstadt with sporadic interactions in Manching.

You will own the product vision and backlog for the sensor-control subsystem, coordinating with a 10-person development team and ensuring alignment with system architecture and timelines. Fluency in English is required; German is recommended.

Qualificações

• Electrical, Computer, Aerospace or Systems Eng studies
• CSPO and SAFe PO/PM desirable
• Extensive sensor-control, avionics or autonomous systems experience
• Product Owner experience: backlog, stakeholders, risk & compliance
• Familiar with DO-278C and safety standards
• Sensor suites (RADAR, EOS) and real-time data loops
• System life-cycle, requirements, architecture, integration and INCOSE
• Agile/Scrum practices
• Software dev or integration (Java, Linux, Git) and CI/CD
• Jira/Confluence, Doors, Cameo, MATLAB/Simulink, Git
• Fluent English; German recommended; English CV required

Responsabilidades

• Own the product vision and roadmap for sensor-control within Ground Mission and Armament System
• Translate requirements into a clear product backlog
• Define user stories and acceptance criteria and Definition of Done
• Lead a 10-person development team
• Collaborate with Architects and Engineers to align with system architecture and timelines
• Conduct backlog grooming, sprint planning, sprint reviews and retrospectives
• Act as primary liaison between the team and external stakeholders
• Manage risk and compliance with traceability matrices
• Ensure DO-278C safety standards reflected in backlog items and tested
• Monitor KPIs and report to senior leadership
• Drive continuous improvement with agile practices and data-driven decisions
• Evaluate software architecture options when needed to support integration

Your Prospective Job:

Your Responsibilities:

• Own the product vision & roadmap for the sensor-control subsystem within the overall Ground Mission and Armament System
• Translate mission requirements, stakeholder needs and regulatory constraints into a clear product backlog
• Define and communicate user stories, acceptance criteria and "Definition of Done" that reflect both functional performance and systems-engineering attributes
• Work hand-in-hand with the 10-person development team
• Collaborate with Architects and Engineers to align sensor-control capabilities with system architecture and mission timelines
• Conduct backlog grooming, sprint planning, sprint reviews and retrospectives,
• Acting as the primary liaison between the team and external stakeholders
• Manage risk and compliance - maintain traceability matrices
• Ensure that safety/mission-critical standards (e.g., DO-278C) are reflected in backlog items and verified during testing
• Monitor and report key performance indicators (feature completion, defect density, sensor-performance metrics, schedule variance) to senior leadership
• Drive continuous improvement - introduce agile best practices, lean processes, and data-driven decision making within the team
• When required, evaluate software architecture options and support integration of software

Your Profile:

• Completed studies in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering or comparable
• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) is desirable
• Many years of professional experience in sensor-control, avionics, autonomous systems, or other mission-critical platforms
• Experience as Product Owner, in Backlog Management, Stakeholder Management and Risk & Compliance Management
• Experience with DO-278, IEC 61508, MIL-STD-882, ARP4754 or similar safety /mission standards
• Experience with sensor suites (RADAR, EOS, etc.), real-time data acquisition and control loops
• Knowledge in delivering complex, high-stakes hardware-or-software products
• Solid understanding of system life-cycle processes, requirements engineering, architecture, integration & verification (ISO/IEC 1528, INCOSE)
• Skills in Agile practices and Scrum
• Skills in developing or integrating software (Java, Linux, Git, etc.) and CI/CD concepts is a strong plus
• User skills in Jira / Confluence, Doors, Cameo, Matlab / Simulink and Git
• Fluent English skills spoken and written
• German skills are recommended
• English CV is needed
