Job summary

Die Universitätsmedizin Göttingen sucht eine/n Postdoktorand/in im Bereich Optogenetik. Sie arbeiten an der Entwicklung neuer Konstrukte zur Überexpression optogenetischer Proteine in Zellen und Geweben und liefern funktionale Readouts in hiPSC-derive Cardiomyozyten sowie weiteren Zellmodellen.

Sie beteiligen sich an der Labororganisation, betreuen Master-, MD- und PhD-Studierende und entwickeln eigenständige Ideen mit dem Ziel erster Drittmittel.

Qualifications

• Md oder PhD in Lebenswissenschaften (molekulare Medizin, Biologie, Chemie, Physik, …).
• Laborerfahrung in Laborarbeiten.
• Selbstständige, verantwortungsbewusste und flexible Arbeitsweise; Teamfähigkeit in internationalem Umfeld.
• Interesse an Grundlagenforschung im Bereich Herz-Kreislauf, Elektrophysiologie und Optogenetik.

Responsibilities

• Design und Klonen von Konstrukten zur Überexpression optogenetischer Proteine in Zellen und Geweben.
• Funktionale Readouts in hiPSC-derivierten Cardiomyozyten und anderen Zellmodellen.
• Mitarbeit bei der Laboreinteilung/Organisation.

Ihre Qualifikationen

• Completed Md or PhD in a Life Sciences subject (molecular medicine, biology, chemistry, physics, …)
• Labwork experience
• Independent, responsible, flexible working style and ability to work in an international team
• Interested in basic cardiovascular research, electrophysiology and optogenetics

Weitere Informationen

We are looking for an excellent and highly motivated PostDoc with an interest in developing new optogenetic approaches to stimulate muscle cells. The successful applicant will be part of the Göttingen Campus and can be associated to the FOR 5807, SFB1690 and EKFZ for optogenetic therapies. He/she/it will explore new channelrhodopsins and optoGPCRs in HEK293 cells, skeletal muscle, smooth muscle cells and cardiomyocytes.
