Jobtailor is seeking a Patient Enrollment and Benefit Verification Specialist to support healthcare operations in a fast-paced environment. You will handle enrollment, benefit checks, insurance verification, and data entry across patient databases, delivering strong customer service to patients, providers, and payers.

Responsibilities include high-volume call handling, document processing, HIPAA-compliant data management, and collaboration with stakeholders to resolve access barriers.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma/GED required; healthcare operations experience preferred.
• 1–2 years in healthcare operations, benefit verification, or related customer service role.
• Experience supporting customers, patients, providers, or administrative processes in a pharmacy or healthcare setting.
• Data-entry capability with attention to accuracy and speed.
• Experience with benefit investigations, insurance verification, or program support in healthcare.
• Familiarity with medical and pharmacy benefit structures and payer types.
• Strong multi-tasking and high-volume call handling skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and ability to generate reports.

• Manage patient enrollment activities, benefit investigations, insurance verification, and routine patient access issues
• Serve as a primary point of contact for patients, providers, and payers
• Process incoming documents and upload/process data in patient databases
• Handle inbound and outbound calls and document interactions

• Recognize and escape issues according to program guidelines
• Complete benefit investigations and eligibility assessments
• Research coverage requirements, out-of-pocket costs, and payer requirements
• Coordinate with patients, providers, and payers to obtain missing information and resolve routine access barriers
• Independently manage patient cases from intake through benefit verification completion
• Maintain accurate documentation, timely follow-up, and adherence to program requirements
• Maintain confidentiality and integrity of protected health information under HIPAA policies
• Complete data entry, set up new patients in databases, and process prescriptions
• Complete manual and electronic patient benefit verifications
• Achieve productivity, quality, attendance, and service-level metrics
• Provide special project support as needed
• Work collaboratively and communicate clearly with stakeholders

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• One to two years of relevant experience in healthcare operations, benefit verification, or a related customer service role
• Experience supporting customers, patients, providers, or administrative processes in a pharmacy or healthcare setting
• Demonstrated data-entry and customer service capability
• Experience conducting benefit investigations, insurance verification, documentation review, program support, patient access support, or similar healthcare operations activities
• Working knowledge of medical and pharmacy benefit structures, payer types, and reimbursement processes
• Ability to effectively manage high-volume phone interactions while maintaining quality and customer service standards
• Advanced computer proficiency with strong data-entry accuracy and productivity
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, including creating reports and analyzing routine data
• Experience utilizing patient support, case management, CRM, healthcare operations, and workflow management systems
• Ability to navigate multiple databases, applications, and electronic systems simultaneously
• Proficiency with telephony/call center technology and associated documentation tools
• Ability to maintain electronic patient records and resolve routine data discrepancies
• Ability to troubleshoot basic system, workflow, and user issues within supported applications
• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and solve moderately complex problems using independent judgment
• Ability to work independently and function as a collaborative team player

• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to obtain a Missouri pharmacy technician registration
• Preferred: Associate's Degree
