J&T Express Germany GmbH is seeking an Operations Specialist – Sorting Center in Hannover to ensure smooth daily operations, coordinate staff, and optimize processes within the sorting center.

You will collaborate with warehouse teams, drivers, and internal departments, manage staffing to match workload, and support continuous improvements in operational workflows and safety standards. Fluency in English and/or German will aid communication in a fast-paced, international setting.

Qualifikationen

• Experience in logistics/warehousing or a similar operational role.
• Fluent in English and/or German.

• Willingness to work night shifts and rotating schedules.
• Basic computer skills including MS Excel, email, and standard office applications.
• Experience within the German logistics/parcel delivery/Last Mile sector is advantageous.
• Team-oriented, reliable and willing to take responsibility in day-to-day operations.

Aufgaben

• Coordinate and manage daily operational activities within the sorting center.

• Allocate staff and tasks according to workload, shipment volumes, and operational requirements.
• Coordinate receiving, unloading, scanning, sorting, loading, and outbound processes.
• Monitor productivity, operational quality, attendance, and team performance.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, safety requirements, and 5S standards.
• Identify and resolve operational issues such as mis-sorting and delayed shipments.
• Communicate with drivers, colleagues, operations teams, and external partners.
• Support onboarding and training of new employees regarding processes and safety.
• Provide regular updates on progress, staffing needs, and potential issues to center management.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and staffing efficiency.

As we continue to expand our operations in Germany, we are looking for an Operations Specialist – Sorting Center (m/f/d) to strengthen our team at our location in Hannover.

In this role, you will support the smooth and efficient operation of our sorting center, coordinate daily operational activities, and work closely with warehouse employees, drivers, and internal teams.

Your Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage daily operational activities within the sorting center
• Support and coordinate a team of approximately 10–20 warehouse employees
• Allocate staff and tasks according to workload, shipment volumes, and operational requirements
• Coordinate receiving, unloading, scanning, sorting, loading, and outbound processes
• Monitor productivity, operational quality, attendance, and team performance
• Ensure compliance with internal SOPs, occupational safety requirements, and 5S standards
• Identify and resolve operational issues such as mis-sorting, missed scans, delayed shipments, and other process exceptions
• Communicate with drivers, colleagues, operations teams, and external partners
• Support the onboarding and training of new employees regarding operational processes and safety requirements
• Provide regular updates on operational progress, staffing requirements, and potential issues to center management
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes, workflows, and staffing efficiency

Your Profile

• Professional experience in logistics, warehousing, parcel delivery, sorting centers, or a comparable operational environment
• Good working knowledge of English and/or German
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Hands-on mindset and the ability to work independently in a dynamic operational environment
• Willingness to work night shifts and rotating schedules
• Basic computer skills, including MS Excel, email, and standard office applications
• Experience within the German logistics, parcel delivery, or Last Mile sector is an advantage
• Team-oriented, reliable, and comfortable taking responsibility in day-to-day operations
