Job summary

SR Travel GmbH in Giessen seeks an Operations Manager MICE to plan, coordinate and execute demanding national and international meetings, incentives, conferences and events. You will align client requirements with creative programs and operational constraints, coordinating partners and services to ensure flawless delivery.

Responsibilities

• Operational planning of MICE projects: meetings, incentives, conferences, events and supporting programs.
• Develop target group‑oriented programs, obtain quotes, and create concepts in cooperation with departments.
• Coordinate hotels, DMCs, venues, transport, guides, restaurants, and suppliers.
• Manage participant lists, room allocations, transfers, schedules and special services.
• Monitor deadlines, budgets, bookings and quality standards.

Job description

• A degree in a relevant field, such as tourism, event management, or business administration, a completed vocational training in tourism or business, or a comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in the MICE, event, or corporate travel sector, ideally with a tour operator, an agency, a DMC, or a comparable service provider
• Experience in planning and operationally executing meetings, incentive trips, conferences, or events
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple projects, deadlines, and contact persons simultaneously
• Strong business acumen and a confident approach to handling proposals, project budgets, and cost controls
• A structured, reliable, and solution-oriented approach to work – even during short-notice changes and challenging project situations
• A strong hands-on mentality and passion for taking ownership and independently driving projects forward
• Strong service orientation and a keen sense of the requirements of our B2B partners and event participants
• Strong communication skills and a confident, professional demeanor towards international business partners and service providers
• Excellent written and spoken German and English language skills; knowledge of additional foreign languages is an asset
• Proficient in using standard MS Office applications; experience with tourism booking, event management, or project management systems is an asset
• Willingness to travel occasionally for business and to manage projects and events on-site
• Resilience, flexibility, and the ability to maintain an overview even in dynamic situations

SR Travel is an internationally active B2B tour operator based in Giessen. We design and organize large and small-scale events, MICE projects, and tailor‑made group travel. In doing so, we collaborate with an international network of hotels, DMCs, venues, and other tourism service providers.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a dedicated and highly organized Operations Manager MICE to reliably plan, coordinate, and operationally implement demanding meetings, incentives, conferences, and events.

Ihre Rolle

As an Operations Manager MICE, you will take on the operational planning and execution of national and international MICE projects. From developing tailored services and coordinating all participating partners to managing the event itself, you will ensure smooth project execution.

You will align client requirements, creative program ideas, and operational parameters. In doing so, you will closely monitor deadlines, budgets, quality, and feasibility at all times, and work hand in hand with our internal teams and international service providers.

Your Responsibilities

• Operational planning of MICE projects: You will plan and organize meetings, incentive trips, conferences, events, and supporting programs – from the initial inquiry right through to successful execution.
• Proposal and program design: You will develop target group‑oriented programs and service components, obtain quotes, and create customized concepts and proposal documents in cooperation with the relevant departments.
• Project coordination: You will manage all operational processes and coordinate hotels, DMCs, venues, transport companies, guides, restaurants, technical service providers, and other suppliers.
• Participant and event management: You will organize the required event and travel services and ensure that participant lists, room allocations, transfers, event schedules, and special services are coordinated on schedule.
• Quality and deadline management: You will monitor option deadlines, booking statuses, cut‑off dates, and booking confirmations. In doing so, you will ensure that all project components are implemented fully, on schedule, and in line with the agreed quality standards.
• Client and partner communication: During project execution, you will serve as a central point of contact for our B2B partners as well as for the involved service providers. You communicate in a reliable, service-oriented, and solution-driven manner.
• Post‑event evaluation and billing: You will assist in checking incoming invoices, document project progress, and conduct a structured post‑event evaluation together with the involved teams.
