Job summary

Skyborn Renewables in Hamburg is seeking an Offshore Substation Package Manager to lead the OSS scope from concept through commissioning and handover. You will coordinate a multidisciplinary team, manage resources, and ensure safe, on-time, and on-budget delivery.

Requirements include an Engineering degree, 8+ years in offshore wind or large-scale infra, EPCI package leadership, and fluent English (German beneficial). Travel internationally is expected in this permanent role.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related technical discipline.
• 8+ years in offshore wind or large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Experience managing EPCI packages.
• Led package teams delivering complex scopes.
• Strong understanding of offshore substations (design through handover).
• Fluency in English; German advantageous.
• Willingness to travel internationally.

• Drive HSE excellence across OSS scope and ensure compliance.
• Oversee planning, budgeting, risk management, QA and performance reporting.
• Lead interface management with foundations, turbines, cables, and partners.
• Act as main contact for OSS contractors and suppliers; coordinate reviews and handovers.

Offshore Substation Package Manager

• Lead the full lifecycle delivery of the Offshore Substation (OSS) package, from concept and design through commissioning and handover, ensuring safe, high-quality, on-time, and on-budget execution.
• Establish, lead, and coordinate a multidisciplinary OSS project team, securing the internal and external resources required for successful project delivery.
• Manage all contractual aspects of the package, including tendering, contractor negotiations, variation management, claims, and supplier performance.
• Drive health, safety, and environmental (HSE) excellence across the OSS scope, ensuring compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and regulatory obligations.
• Oversee package planning, budgeting, risk management, quality assurance, and performance reporting, providing clear visibility to project leadership.
• Lead interface management between the OSS package and key project stakeholders, including foundations, wind turbines, array cables, export cables, and external partners.
• Act as the primary point of contact for OSS contractors and suppliers, leading technical reviews, coordination workshops, inspections, documentation management, lessons learned, and the successful handover to Operations & Maintenance.

Your profile:

• Degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical discipline, with professional project management certification (PMP, IPMA, or equivalent) considered an advantage.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in offshore wind or large-scale infrastructure projects, including package management or technical leadership responsibilities.
• Extensive experience managing EPCI packages within offshore wind, renewable energy, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Proven track record of leading package teams, delivering complex scopes, and managing contract execution across multidisciplinary environments.
• Strong technical understanding of offshore substations, including design, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and handover activities.
• Solid commercial and contractual expertise, combined with excellent stakeholder management, communication, and coordination skills in international project settings.
• Demonstrated commitment to HSE excellence and safe project delivery, with fluency in English; German and additional languages are advantageous.
• A keen willingness to travel internationally.
