White Plains Hospital Medical Center is seeking a Nursing Technician for per diem night shifts (6PM–6AM) in the Medical-Surgical Acute 5I department. Duties include ADLs, vital signs, I&O, EKGs, specimen collection, and assisting with procedures under RN supervision.

Qualifications include high school diploma or GED, nursing technician orientation, and BLS within 180 days. Per diems may require de-escalation training within 1 year of hire. Equal opportunity employer.

Job Summary

The Nursing Technician performs patient care and non-patient care functions within their scope of practice under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse. Duties include but are not limited to ADL’s, vital signs, I&O, performing EKGs, documentation of vital signs and I & O, simple dressing changes, specimen collection, assisting with meals, errands, transporting of patients, medications, or specimens, ambulating of patients, urinary drainage care (indwelling, external and suprapubic), assists with colostomy care, applies binders, weighs patients, assists health care providers with procedures and physical exams, and other duties as assigned.

• Utilizes cost containment practices.
• Adheres to all WPH policies and procedures including dress code, code of conduct, customer service, attendance, and submission of annual physical.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
