Job summary

The Nursing Technician at White Plains Hospital Medical Center provides patient and non-patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include ADLs, vital signs, I&O, EKGs, dressing changes, specimen collection, meals assistance, transporting patients, and basic nursing duties.

Night shift 6PM–6AM, MON-FRI with alternating weekends and holidays, 75 hours per pay period, pay rate $25.00–$37.50 per hour. Equal opportunity employer; BLS required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Less than 1 year hospital or patient care experience preferred.
• BLS certification required on hire or within 6 months.
• Excellent communication skills (written & verbal); teamwork and adaptability.
• EKG class/training required for monitors readers.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient and non-patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Performs ADLs, measures vital signs, I&O, and basic charting.
• Conducts EKGs, specimen collection, and medication or specimen transport.
• Assists with meals, ambulation, dressing changes, and patient transfers.
• Maintains infection control, document accuracy, and compliance with hospital policies.

Job Summary

The Nursing Technician performs patient care and non-patient care functions within their scope of practice under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse. Duties include but are not limited to ADL’s, vital signs, I&O, performing EKGs, documentation of vital signs and I & O, simple dressing changes, specimen collection, assisting with meals, errands, transporting of patients, medications, or specimens, ambulating of patients, urinary drainage care (indwelling, external and suprapubic), assists with colostomy care, applies binders, weighs patients, assists health care providers with procedures and physical exams, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
