Job summary

White Plains Hospital Medical Center is seeking a Nursing Technician for night shift to provide patient care and non-patient care within their scope under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities include ADLs, vital signs, I&O, EKGs, documentation, dressing changes, specimen collection, meals assistance, transport, medication/support, and colostomy/urinary care as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Less than 1 year of hospital or patient-care experience preferred.
• BLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Excellent communication skills (written & verbal).
• Teamwork, adaptability, problem solving and good judgment essential.
• Frequent use of computers and office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Measures vital signs, I&O, and performs EKGs; documents vitals and I&O.
• Assists with activities of daily living and meals; transports patients as needed.
• Assists with wound care, specimen collection, and dressing changes.
• Supports health care providers with procedures and exams.
• Adheres to infection control practices and performance standards.

Job Summary

The Nursing Technician performs patient care and non-patient care functions within their scope of practice under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse. Duties include but are not limited to ADL’s, vital signs, I&O, performing EKGs, documentation of vital signs and I & O, simple dressing changes, specimen collection, assisting with meals, errands, transporting of patients, medications, or specimens, ambulating of patients, urinary drainage care (indwelling, external and suprapubic), assists with colostomy care, applies binders, weighs patients, assists health care providers with procedures and physical exams, and other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

Qualifications
