piezosystem jena GmbH in Jena is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer (m/f/d) to turn technical ideas into precise, manufacturable solutions for high-precision piezo drives and systems.

You will develop mechanical components and assemblies from concept through prototyping to series maturity, create 3D CAD models and drawings, select materials, and collaborate with electronics, production and sales to optimize function, cost and manufacturability.

Qualifikationen

• Completed degree in mechanical engineering, precision engineering, mechatronics or a comparable technical qualification.
• Technical vocational training with further qualification as a technician and corresponding design experience.

• Developing and designing mechanical components, assemblies and systems for high-precision piezo drives and positioning systems.
• Creating and further developing 3D CAD models, assemblies and technical drawings.
• Developing customer-specific mechanical solutions and adapting existing products.
• Designing parts and assemblies with precision, function, manufacturability and cost in mind.
• Selecting suitable materials, manufacturing processes and mechanical components.
• Preparing single-part, assembly and production drawings including tolerances.
• Carrying out and evaluating tolerance analyses.
• Creating and maintaining bills of materials as well as technical product documentation.
• Supporting prototypes, test set-ups and pilot series.
• Technical coordination with production, assembly and external manufacturing partners.
• Analysing technical problems and solving them through design.
• Optimising existing products in terms of function, manufacturability, assembly effort and cost.
• Close collaboration with electronics development, production, quality and sales.
• Technical support for customer projects and demanding custom solutions.
• Accompanying your own designs from the initial idea to the finished product.

Your Chance

For our site in Jena, we are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer (m/f/d) who turns technical ideas into precise, reliable and manufacturable solutions.

You will work in our development department and accompany our products from the first idea through design and prototyping to series maturity.

This is about more than classic CAD design: you will develop demanding mechanical components and assemblies for high-precision mechatronic systems, solve technical challenges together with our specialists and contribute directly to the further development of our products.

In short: you think technically, design precisely and develop solutions that work in practice.

Your Tasks

• Developing and designing mechanical components, assemblies and systems for our high-precision piezo drives and positioning systems
• Creating and further developing 3D CAD models, assemblies and technical drawings

Your Profile

• Completed degree in mechanical engineering, precision engineering, mechatronics or a comparable technical qualification
• Alternatively, completed technical vocational training with further qualification as a technician and corresponding design experience
• Experience in mechanical design and development
• Confident use of a modern 3D CAD system
• Very good understanding of technical drawings, fits, geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing as well as design for manufacture
• Knowledge of precision mechanics, precision engineering or mechatronics is an advantage
• Understanding of different manufacturing processes such as milling, turning, EDM or additive manufacturing
• Experience with ERP systems is an advantage
• Independent, structured and solution-oriented way of working
• Strong technical understanding and enjoyment in solving complex technical tasks
• A high sense of quality and responsibility
• Team spirit and willingness to work closely with sales and production
• Good German language skills as well as English language skills for working with international customers and partners
