The Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring that all assets are maintained in accordance with service schedule requirements. All work must be carried out in a timely, safe, and professional manner to meet and exceed customer expectations. The Maintenance Technician reports to the Maintenance & Regeneration Manager Northern Europe.
Maintain planned maintenance schedules to ensure fleet readiness and operational reliability.
Manage the check-in and check-out of fleet units.
Assist in management of asset roadworthiness.
Ensure all units stored at the depot are secure, well maintained, and freeze protected.
Support the delivery, installation, connection, and commissioning of mobile water treatment equipment at customer sites.
Ensure customer sites are prepared for equipment deployment and operation.
Ensure compliance with all required documentation, including risk assessments and method statements.
Monitor equipment performance throughout the hire period and support customers as required.
Identify all consumables and enable equipment required for projects and fleet maintenance.
Ensure that all procurement activities are processed through the appropriate systems and maintain adequate stock levels of essential spare parts and consumables.
Ensure assets are maintained in a safe condition and comply with relevant health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
Develop and support risk assessments for mobile asset deployments.
Assist with training activities, record keeping, and contractor compliance.
Support the continuous improvement of systems and procedures for project delivery and fleet operations.
Support the Saur Group's Net Zero commitment by promoting safe, sustainable, and environmentally responsible ways of working.
Recognised German Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics qualification.
Technical vocational qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Proven experience in maintenance engineering, preferably within water treatment or a related industrial sector.
Experience in troubleshooting, repair, installation, and commissioning of electrical and mechanical equipment.
Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to industrial operations.
Advanced German and intermediate English proficiency are required.
Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
Primarily site-based in Heinsberg, Germany (approximately 90%), with occasional travel to customer locations.
Participation in an on-call rota is required.
Normal working hours are day shift; however, flexibility to work nights, weekends, and public holidays when required is essential.
Must reside within commuting distance of Heinsberg or be willing to relocate.
Valid German Class B driving licence (or equivalent EU driving licence).
Must have the legal right to work in Germany and be able to travel within the European Union as required.
