Job summary

MT Aerospace AG in Augsburg is seeking a Machine Operator – Shot Blasting / Measurement to support forming dome segments for large space hardware and launch vehicle components. You will operate shot blasting machines, run KUKA robot-assisted forming, and maintain measurement records for geometry accuracy.

The role requires shift work and hands-on maintenance skills. The position offers mobile/hybrid work within the production area, a 35-hour week, and IG Metall pay scale with 30 days leave.

Qualifications

• Completed vocational training in a metalworking trade or similar.
• Experience in setting up and operating machinery.
• Experience with forming processes and measurement software (PolyWorks preferred).
• Willingness to work three-shift rotas, including extended shifts when required.

Responsibilities

• Operate the shot blasting machine for forming dome segments (NGLV, ARIANE 6, SLS).
• Carry out tasks across all production processes within the forming cell.
• Set up, finish and clean components.
• Control forming process with shot blasting using KUKA robots.
• Record measurement data, analyse geometry and compile measurement docs.
• Assist with acceptance testing of components.
• Perform basic maintenance of the plant and fixtures.

Your Tasks

• You will operate the shot blasting machine for the forming of dome segments of the NGLV, ARIANE 6 and SLS types
• You will carry out tasks across all production processes within the forming cell
• In doing so, you will set up, finish and clean the components
• You will be responsible for the forming process using shot blasting with KUKA robots
• You will record measurement data for the resulting geometry, analyse it and compile measurement documentation
• You will assist with the acceptance testing of components
• In addition, you will carry out basic maintenance of the plant and its fixtures

Your Qualifications

• Completed vocational training as an industrial mechanic, construction mechanic, machining mechanic, machine operator (in a metalworking company) or similar
• Knowledge of setting up and operating machinery
• Experience with forming processes and using software in the field of measurement technology, preferably PolyWorks, is desirable
• Willingness to work three-shift rotas, including extended shift patterns where required
