Job summary

AND-E is seeking an IT Infrastructure professional to manage a hybrid server landscape combining on-premise platforms with Microsoft Azure. You will plan maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and implement security policies to protect critical systems.

Requirements include a 5-year background in IT infrastructure or operations, deep Windows Server knowledge, and VMware experience. German is a plus; 32 days of leave, flexible hours, and extensive employee benefits accompany the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Continuity Management, or equivalent experience.
• Five years of professional experience in IT infrastructure, systems engineering or IT operations.
• Proven experience in operating and administering highly available, business-critical on-premise infrastructure.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server environments, covering installation, configuration, administration and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with server virtualization (VMware vSphere/ESXi); Azure and hybrid cloud experience is a plus.
• Strong English communication; German is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Taking responsibility for the smooth day-to-day operation of our hybrid server landscape, with a focus on on-premise platforms complemented by Microsoft Azure.
• Planning regular system maintenance and carrying it out yourself, so our systems stay stable and available.
• Analysing technical issues across our infrastructure systems, identifying root causes and ensuring lasting fixes.
• Developing security policies and procedures to protect our IT infrastructure and applying them in daily operations.
• Collaborating with vendors and external service providers to fix issues and implement new solutions.

What it takes to succeed in this role

• Proven experience in operating and administering highly available, business-critical on-premise infrastructure.

• Hands-on experience with server virtualization, ideally with VMware vSphere/ESXi. Experience with Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud environments is a plus.
• Good communication skills in English. German is an advantage.
