Job summary

Avatr GmbH in München seeks an experienced IT Manager to drive hands-on IT operations and lead projects across the German office. The role combines technical execution with strong management to ensure secure, scalable systems.

You will own IT operations, manage vendor relationships, and mentor a growing IT team while coordinating with international IT departments to deliver high-quality services.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science or related field.
• Experience with hardware troubleshooting and repair.
• Experience with telecoms and AV/video conferencing systems.
• Strong project management and team leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, and debug software/hardware on-site.
• Manage network operation and maintenance in the work area.
• Oversee server room operation and maintenance in the German office area.
• Resolve daily IT needs of employees including mailboxes, data, security, and OS issues.
• Source external IT suppliers to solve system and security architecture needs.
• Collaborate with external IT suppliers and China IT departments to implement IT architecture.
• Lead and develop the IT team, assign tasks, plan workload, mentor, and set priorities.
• Handle other temporary IT and equipment management tasks.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced IT Manager to join our growing IT team in Germany. This role combines hands-on IT operations with a strong management mindset, taking the lead on IT projects, advanced support, and systems and network administration. The ideal candidate has solid experience in MS365 and/or network administration, and the ability to take full ownership of IT operations, manage vendor relationships, and lead IT projects with strong project management skills.

What you will do:

• Responsible for the installation, configuration, upgrade, and debugging of computer software and hardware on the job site.
• Responsible for network operation and maintenance in the work area.
• Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the server room in the German office area.
• Responsible for solving the daily IT needs of employees in the German office, including mailboxes, data, security, operating systems, etc..
• Looking for external professional suppliers to solve the company's IT system architecture and security architecture.
• Cooperate with external professional IT suppliers and China IT departments to implement IT system architecture.
• Lead and develop the IT team, including task allocation, workload planning, and mentoring, while setting IT priorities and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery.
• Other temporary IT and equipment management related work.

What you will bring:

• Degree in computer science or related disciplines.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Autocad, Adobe CC.
• Experience with hardware troubleshooting and repair.
• Support and implementation knowledge of telecommunications and audio-visual & video conference systems.
• Good English in written and verbal communication, knowledge of Chinese and German is preferred.
• Good collaboration skills with a high customer service focus.
• Process improvement and monitoring experience desired.
• Detailed experience in asset management and tracking.
• Proven experience in leading or mentoring an IT team.
• Good team working skills.
• Able to communicate and consult with Management.
• Ability to work independently.
• Working experience and demonstrated 1st to 3rd level IT skills.
