Job summary

Metis Search is partnered with an elite boutique Investment Bank seeking an Analyst/Associate for its generalist M&A team in Frankfurt. You will contribute to buy-side and sell-side mandates across Germany and Europe, with exposure to senior stakeholders and significant deal flow.

The role offers high responsibility, a clear progression path, and a lean, execution-focused environment with broad sector coverage and sponsor-driven deals.

Qualifications

• Approximately 1.5 to 4 years’ experience in investment banking, with a focus on M&A or a comparable transaction-oriented environment.
• Credible end-to-end M&A experience is essential.
• Strong technical foundation in financial modelling and valuation.
• Experience across multiple sectors is beneficial given the generalist nature of the team.
• Big 4 candidates with strong Lead Advisory / M&A experience may also be considered.
• Demonstrated transaction experience with the ability to take ownership of workstreams.
• Commercially minded, resourceful and comfortable working in a lean team environment.
• Clear and confident communicator with strong presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the execution of sell-side and buy-side M&A transactions, developing investment cases and financial analyses.
• Prepare financial models and valuations, including DCF, LBO and comparable company / precedent transaction analyses.
• Produce high-quality client presentations, information memoranda and marketing materials.
• Develop relationships with management teams, advisers and investors to support origination efforts.
• Work closely with senior bankers on strategic advisory and transaction execution, taking an active role across the deal process.
• Manage transaction workstreams and work collaboratively with all members of the team.

This is an opportunity to join a leading elite boutique Investment Bank, advising on buy-side and sell-side M&A and strategic advisory transactions across Germany and Europe.

The team operates within an agile and execution-focused environment, offering significant responsibility, regular interaction with senior stakeholders and clients, strong deal exposure, and a clear progression path.
