NVO Worldwide in Hamburg is seeking an Import Operations Officer to coordinate import shipments and stay in close contact with customers and international partners, ensuring the different steps come together smoothly.

You will adapt to changing circumstances, maintain an overview when unexpected challenges arise, and contribute to reliable communication while managing the administrative and commercial tasks involved in import operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in a comparable import operations role and understanding of operational logistics processes.
• Confident communication, good organisational skills, and adaptability to new systems and procedures.
• Experience with CargoWise One (CW1) is an advantage.

As an Import Operations Officer, you handle import shipments for domestic and international customers. You stay in close contact with customers, overseas agents, transport companies and shipping lines. You coordinate the different stages of each shipment, handle enquiries and take care of the administrative and commercial tasks involved.

When things do not go according to plan, your solution-oriented mindset comes into play. You adapt to changing circumstances, follow up on outstanding questions and help keep operations moving.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WORK

Coordinate, communicate and find solutions.

You keep the different parties informed and make sure the operational and administrative tasks involved in our import shipments are handled reliably.

Handle import shipments

You take care of handling import shipments for domestic and international customers.

Communicate with customers and partners

You coordinate with customers, overseas agents, transport companies and shipping lines, ensuring relevant information is shared.

Arrange customs handling and on-carriage

You prepare quotations for customs handling and on-carriage and take care of the necessary arrangements.

You deal with general import enquiries, answer outstanding questions and help resolve irregularities.

You handle invoice queries, issue invoices and follow up on outstanding payments.

You already have experience in a comparable import operations role and understand the processes involved in operational logistics. You communicate confidently, have good organisational skills and can adapt to new working practices, systems and procedures.

You work in a structured way, respond flexibly to changing requirements and approach challenges with a solution-oriented mindset.

Experience with CargoWise One (CW1) is an advantage.
