Job description

SELECT — S.E.T. Select Energy GmbH — is an independent, privately held energy trading group with strong family roots, moving and financing energy across borders since 1985. With more than 100 employees from over 20 countries, we combine deep market experience with swift decision-making and a strong hands-on approach. For our Hamburg head office we are looking for an experienced HR Manager who brings expertise, empathy and the drive to further develop our HR function. Working alongside our line managers and senior management, you will coordinate and deliver our day-to-day HR processes — from recruitment and onboarding to employee development and reliable operational support.

Responsibilities
  • Support and coordinate the full recruitment process — from defining hiring requirements with line managers and writing targeted job advertisements to arranging interviews and coordinating the employment-contract process
  • Identify and directly approach suitable candidates through relevant professional networks and active sourcing channels
  • Support employer-branding initiatives that strengthen our profile as an employer
  • Design and coordinate structured onboarding and offboarding processes so employees feel valued and supported
  • Support line managers in identifying training and development needs
  • Design, organize and evaluate training sessions, workshops and other employee-development initiatives
  • Provide organizational support for succession planning, talent management and assessments of employee potential
  • Support the continuous improvement and day-to-day administration of our HR processes and tools
  • Provide responsive, service-oriented support to employees on day-to-day and administrative HR matters
  • Work closely with teams and managers and provide practical support to senior management
  • Help organize initiatives that promote employee retention, health and wellbeing, and a strong company culture
Requirements
  • A degree in business administration, psychology, education, human resources management or an equivalent HR qualification
  • Several years of experience in HR, particularly in recruitment and employee development
  • Sound knowledge of employment law
  • Proficiency in modern recruitment tools and HR systems
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, combined with empathy
  • A structured, self-motivated and solution-oriented approach to work
  • Strong organizational skills, adaptability and enthusiasm for working in a dynamic, international environment
  • Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken
What we offer
  • A varied HR role with real ownership of our day-to-day people processes and the room to shape and improve them
  • Flat hierarchies and direct collaboration with line managers and senior management
  • An international team of more than 100 colleagues from over 20 countries
  • A modern workplace in the heart of Hamburg with flexible working arrangements by agreement
  • Competitive remuneration reflecting your experience and level of responsibility
  • Visa and legal support for relocation; free German classes
  • Free smartphone, fresh fruit basket, complimentary beverages, monthly transit pass
  • Wellhub App access and subsidised bike leasing via JobRad
  • Conference and seminar participation for professional development
