Frequentis Comsoft in Karlsruhe seeks a Head of R&D Data Solutions to lead multiple international teams and ensure compliant, high-quality product development aligned with corporate strategy.

You will drive agile processes, own roadmaps and releases, and oversee budgets and risks while promoting innovation and cross-functional collaboration across groups to deliver robust data solutions for aviation and security applications.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of professional software development or R&D experience.
• At least 5 years in a senior management role with multiple teams.
• Proven leadership of international, cross-functional teams.
• Strong knowledge of software dev methodologies, agile frameworks, and modern engineering practices.
• Experience managing product lifecycles, roadmaps, releases, and resources.
• Knowledge of regulatory/compliance frameworks incl. EASA and CRA.
• Excellent English communication; German is an advantage.

Key Tasks

• Translate product and technology strategies into actionable development plans and ensure successful execution.

• Take centralized ownership of EASA and Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) product requirements and ensure compliance.
• Manage resources, budgets, competencies, risks, and escalations across multiple development initiatives.
• Ensure delivery capability for product development, releases, product roadmaps, and customer project support.
• Drive agile development processes and promote continuous improvement across teams.
• Advance customer- and market-oriented test automation strategies to improve quality and delivery performance.
• Reduce operational workload for Team Leads and Product Management by assuming overarching coordination responsibilities.
• Strengthen collaboration and communication with Project Management, Service, Quality Management, and Group Governance stakeholders.
• Foster a culture of quality, safety, security, regulatory compliance, and engineering excellence.
• Challenge existing processes and drive innovation to enhance products, capabilities, and organizational performance

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of professional experience in software development, system development, or R&D environments.
• At least 5 years of leadership experience in a senior management role with responsibility for multiple teams or functions.
• Proven experience leading international and cross-functional teams.
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies, agile frameworks, and modern engineering practices.
• Experience managing product development lifecycles, roadmaps, releases, and resource planning.
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks, ideally including EASA requirements and the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to align diverse interests across functions and organizational levels.
• Excellent risk management, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills in English; German is an advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to challenge the status quo and successfully drive organizational and technological change.
