Zusammenfassung

Jobtailor is seeking a senior engineering leader to head the Project Management department in our Germany-based team. You will guide project portfolio execution, align resources, and set processes that ensure on-time delivery and compliance with standards.

You will develop the team, mentor engineers, and collaborate across Sales, Service, and suppliers to optimize outcomes. Fluent German and English, travel occasionally, and a deep background in plant engineering or measurement and control are

Qualifikationen

• University degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent with substantial experience.
• Experience managing complex technical projects in plant engineering, measurement and analytical technology, automation, or systems integration.
• Experience providing technical and disciplinary leadership and developing technical employees.
• Understanding of design through FAT/SAT, commissioning, acceptance, and documentation.

Aufgaben

• Provide technical and disciplinary leadership for the Project Management department, incl. employee development and competency building.
• Manage and prioritize the project portfolio and allocate personnel and resources accordingly.
• Ensure consistent and reliable project execution through processes, standards, and framework conditions.
• Ensure quality and consistency of engineering deliverables and provide technical assessments on complex concepts.
• Ensure project execution in compliance with contractual specs, standards, regulations, and quality/HSE/cybersecurity requirements.
• Coordinate risks, changes, and escalations across projects and support decisions with cost/schedule implications.
• Foster collaboration with Sales, panel building, calibration, Service, suppliers, and customers.
• Develop and standardize project processes, technical solutions, and tools while promoting knowledge sharing.

• Provide technical and disciplinary leadership for the Project Management department, including employee development, competency building, and further development of the team organization
• Manage and prioritize the project portfolio and allocate available personnel and technical resources according to requirements
• Ensure consistent and reliable project execution through appropriate processes, standards, responsibilities, and framework conditions
• Ensure the quality and consistency of engineering deliverables and provide technical assessments of key technical concepts in complex or high-risk projects
• Ensure project execution in compliance with contractual specifications, technical standards and regulations, and applicable quality, HSE, and cybersecurity requirements
• Coordinate significant technical risks, changes, and escalations across projects, and support project managers in decisions with substantial cost, schedule, or contractual implications
• Ensure clear and efficient collaboration with Sales, panel building, calibration, Service, other specialist departments, suppliers, and customers
• Further develop and standardize project processes, technical solutions, and tools, while promoting knowledge sharing and best practices within the department

Requirements

• Completed university degree in an engineering discipline, such as electrical engineering, automation engineering, process engineering, or measurement and control engineering, or an equivalent qualification combined with many years of relevant professional experience
• Several years of experience managing complex technical projects, ideally in plant engineering and construction, measurement and analytical technology, automation, or systems integration
• Experience providing technical and disciplinary leadership and developing technical employees
• In-depth understanding of the technical and commercial processes involved in complex projects—from design and engineering through procurement and manufacturing to FAT/SAT, commissioning, acceptance, and documentation
• Experience with cross-project resource and priority management, as well as technical risk, change, and escalation management
• Strong understanding of the commercial and contractual implications of technical and project-related decisions
• Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive clear technical and organizational decisions even in complex situations
• Very good German and good English skills
• Willingness to travel occasionally
