Job summary

Discover International is seeking a senior technical leader to own engineering support across packaging and inspection operations within a GMP manufacturing environment. You will set the direction for equipment performance, maintenance strategy and route to resolution of complex issues.

The role requires building and mentoring a high‑performing engineering team, driving improvements in efficiency, cost and product quality, and ensuring compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or another relevant technical discipline.
• Strong technical leadership experience within pharmaceutical, medical device or another regulated manufacturing environment.
• Good understanding of packaging equipment, inspection systems and production machinery.
• Proven experience leading and developing technical teams.
• Strong background in maintenance, troubleshooting and equipment reliability.
• Experience driving continuous improvement and technical optimisation.
• Good understanding of GMP and regulated manufacturing requirements.
• Commercially minded, pragmatic and comfortable making technical decisions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across Production, Quality and Engineering.
• Good knowledge of German & English is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering team supporting packaging and inspection operations.
• Take technical ownership of production equipment, machinery and associated systems.
• Ensure equipment reliability, availability and stable day-to-day manufacturing performance.
• Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical issues together with Production, Quality and Engineering teams.
• Plan and coordinate preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance and repair activities.
• Identify and implement improvements focused on efficiency, cost, equipment performance and product quality.
• Ensure technical activities are completed in line with GMP and regulatory requirements.
• Support the introduction of new products, equipment and manufacturing technologies.
• Lead technical projects across equipment upgrades, line improvements and production optimisation.
• Develop and motivate the engineering team while driving a practical, performance-focused culture.
