Discover International is seeking a Maintenance & Reliability Lead to own day-to-day maintenance readiness, CMMS setup, spare parts strategy, and contractor coordination across a GMP production site in Germany.

You will drive preventive and predictive maintenance, manage work permits and LOTO, and support commissioning and start-up from a maintenance readiness perspective, collaborating with Engineering, CQV and Quality to ensure asset reliability.

Qualifikationen

• Experience in regulated manufacturing environments (pharma/biotech/chemical) is required.
• Hands-on maintenance leadership with GMP documentation discipline.
• Strong knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance and asset lifecycle.

Aufgaben

• Own daily maintenance coordination across GMP production areas, utilities, laboratories, technical areas and site infrastructure.
• Manage the CMMS process, including asset data, work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, job plans, asset histories and audit-ready reporting.
• Establish and maintain the MRO spare parts process, including storeroom structure, critical spares, cataloguing, reorder levels and stock control.
• Coordinate internal technicians, external service providers and specialist contractors for planned, corrective and emergency maintenance.
• Issue and manage daily Work Permits, LOTO activities and safe maintenance execution in line with site EHS requirements.
• Support operational readiness for clean utilities, black utilities, HVAC, electrical systems, instrumentation, process equipment and laboratory equipment.
• Build practical maintenance routines, SOPs, checklists and escalation processes for routine GMP operations.
• Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, deviations, CAPAs and change controls related to maintenance and asset reliability.
• Work closely with Engineering, Utilities, Automation, CQV, Quality, Manufacturing, EHS and external vendors.
• Support commissioning, qualification, handover and start-up activities from a maintenance readiness perspective.
• Drive reliability, equipment availability, safety compliance and continuous improvement across site maintenance operations.

We are supporting a growing biopharmaceutical manufacturing organisation as they prepare a GMP production site for operational readiness. The business is looking for a Maintenance & Reliability Lead to take ownership of day-to-day maintenance readiness, CMMS set-up, spare parts strategy, contractor coordination and safe execution of maintenance activities across the site.

This role is suited to someone who can combine hands-on maintenance leadership with strong GMP documentation, safety discipline and practical site operations experience.

Requirements

• Maintenance, reliability or technical operations experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical, food, medical device or other regulated manufacturing environments.
• Technical qualification such as Meister, Techniker, engineering degree or equivalent practical background.
• Strong experience using CMMS / SAP PM or similar maintenance management systems.
• Good understanding of preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, work orders, spare parts and asset lifecycle management.
• Experience with Work Permits, LOTO, contractor management and safe systems of work.
• Familiarity with GMP documentation, deviations, CAPAs, change control and audit readiness.
• Experience supporting utilities, facilities, production equipment, HVAC, electrical systems or instrumentation.
• Practical, hands‑on mindset with the ability to build maintenance processes in a growing site environment.
• Strong coordination skills across technicians, vendors, contractors and cross‑functional site teams.
• German and English language skills required.
