Continental Industry seeks a Head of Group Accounting to strengthen the central Finance organization. You will lead the group accounting team, ensure IFRS/HGB compliance, and coordinate external audits across international subsidiaries.

The role requires a strong accounting background in a global manufacturing setting, fluency in German and English, and proven leadership. A competitive package is offered with career development opportunities.

Competenze

• Academic degree in business administration, law or a comparable qualification with an accounting/auditing focus.
• Several years of experience in a senior accounting position in a global automotive/manufacturing company or auditing firm.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and German GAAP (HGB).
• Proficiency in ERP systems, consolidation tools and BI solutions.
• Fluent German and English, written and spoken.
• Strong analytical thinking, high attention to detail and persistence in solving complex challenges.

Mansioni

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements in IFRS, HGB and other applicable standards.
• Coordinate subsidiaries and international branches to ensure consistency of financial statements.
• Lead and develop the group accounting team and foster a high-performance environment.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, HGB and other regulatory requirements; work with external auditors.
• Establish and maintain internal controls and continuously improve accounting processes.

Job Description

Drive Strategic Financial Leadership:

We are seeking a professional Head of Group Accounting (m/f/diverse) to strengthen and maintain the overall Group Accounting department within the central Finance organization of ContiTech. Overall responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Group Financial Reporting

• Preparation of annua and consolidated financial statements (monthly, quarterly and annual) in accordance with IFRS, the German commercial code (HGB) and other applicable accounting standards
• Ensuring the timely provision of consolidated statements for external and internal stakeholders, including the management board, investors and auditors
• Coordination with subsidiaries and international branches to ensure consistency in the financial statements

Leadership & Team Management

• Leading and development the team of accountants and financial professionals within the group accounting departments
• Fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment. Ensuring clear communication and effective coordination across the group

Compliance & Governance

• Ensuring compliance with all relevant local and international accounting standards, regulatory requirements and financial frameworks (including IFRS, HGB and others as applicable)
• Monitoring the implementation of changes to accounting standards and internal policies to maintain compliance
• Collaboariton with external auditors and ensuring audit requirements are met as well as responsibility for implementing any necessary adjustments.

Internal Controls & Process Improvements

• Establishing and maintaining the internal control system for the group's accounting activities
• Continous review and optimization of accounting processes and systems to improve efficiency, accuracy and compliance
• Implementation of best practices for accounting operations

Communication & Stakeholder Management

• Cooperation with other departments (controlling, taxes, treasury, legal and operations) to align financial reporting with the overall corporate strategy
• Main point of contact for accounting processes and standards, providing expertise and support for the CFO and other departments
• Maintaining open communications with external stakeholders (auditors, regulatory authorities, investors, etc.)

Qualifications

• Acadamic degree in business administration, law or a comparable qualification with a focus on accounting / auditing
• Several years of experience in a senior accounting position, ideally in a global company within the automotive or manufacturing industry or in an auditing firm
• Sound knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and German GAAP (HGB)
• Proficiency in ERP Systems, consolidation tools and business intelligence solutions
• Fluent German and English language skills written and spoken
• Strong analytical thinking, high attention to detail and persistence in solving complex challenges
