comstruct is building autonomous AI agents to transform the material procurement process for the construction industry. We seek a Head of Engineering to own the platform and the team, leading hiring, coaching, and org design as we scale beyond 10 engineers across three squads.

You will partner with the CTO to ensure architectural excellence and effective delivery in a complex domain. You will be a hands-on leader, comfortable designing systems and guiding a recruiting engine to attract top

Qualifikationen

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, including time in high-growth startups or scale-ups.
• Led engineering teams of 10+ people, ideally managing managers or leads.
• Able to discuss architecture and system design; not just a people manager.
• Built or scaled a technical recruiting engine to raise hiring standards.
• AI-first mindset and use of modern AI-assisted engineering workflows.
• Structured and calm under ambiguity; capable of designing an org from scratch.
• Fluency in German and English.

Our platform takes over repetitive and error-prone tasks across the material flow, enabling construction companies to focus on what truly matters: building. Backed by a €12.5M funding round with investors such as Google Ventures and 20VC, we are now entering our next growth phase and are looking for exceptionally driven and ambitious individuals to help scale our product. Trusted by some of the world's largest construction companies (including Vinci), we are just getting started. To take our product to the next level, we are looking for a Head of Engineering who wants to build both the platform and the team behind it, at the intersection of AI, software, and one of the most complex industries in the world. As our engineering team grows past 10 people across three teams, we need a technical leader who can own hiring, coaching, and org design end-to-end — freeing our CTO to focus on building and discovery, while making sure every engineer has the structure, feedback, and growth path to do their best work.

What We Are Looking For

• You have 6+ years of software engineering experience, including meaningful time in high-growth startups or scale-ups
• You have led engineering teams of 10+ people, ideally managing managers or leads, not just individual contributors
• You are technical enough to be a real sparring partner in architecture and system design conversations, not a distant people manager
• You have built or scaled a technical recruiting engine before and know how to raise the hiring bar
• You are AI-first and use modern AI-assisted engineering workflows yourself
• You are structured and calm under ambiguity, and can design an org from scratch rather than just running an existing one
• Full professional proficiency in German and English
