comstruct ICT is seeking a Head of Engineering to shape the platform and the team behind it at the intersection of AI, software, and one of the world’s most complex industries. You will own hiring, coaching, and org design end-to-end, freeing the CTO to focus on building and discovery while ensuring every engineer has structure, feedback, and growth.

You bring 6+ years in software engineering, prior leadership of 10+ engineers, and fluency in German and English.

comstruct develops autonomous AI agents that reimagine the entire material procurement process, from requisition to posted invoice. Our platform takes over repetitive and error-prone tasks across the material flow, enabling construction companies to focus on what truly matters: building. Backed by a €12.5M funding round with investors such as Google Ventures and 20VC, we are now entering our next growth phase and are looking for exceptionally driven and ambitious individuals to help scale our product.

To take our product to the next level, we are looking for a Head of Engineering who wants to build both the platform and the team behind it, at the intersection of AI, software, and one of the most complex industries in the world.

As our engineering team grows past 10 people across three teams, we need a technical leader who can own hiring, coaching, and org design end-to-end — freeing our CTO to focus on building and discovery, while making sure every engineer has the structure, feedback, and growth path to do their best work.

What we are looking for:

• You have 6+ years of software engineering experience, including meaningful time in high-growth startups or scale-ups
• You have led engineering teams of 10+ people, ideally managing managers or leads, not just individual contributors
• You are technical enough to be a real sparring partner in architecture and system design conversations, not a distant people manager
• You have built or scaled a technical recruiting engine before and know how to raise the hiring bar
• You are AI-first and use modern AI-assisted engineering workflows yourself
• You are structured and calm under ambiguity, and can design an org from scratch rather than just running an existing one
• Full professional proficiency in German and English

You have ownership to drive initiatives like:

• Redesigning comstruct's engineering org structure and career ladder as we scale past 10 engineers
• Building a recruiting engine that consistently brings in A-players across all three engineering teams
• Establishing the coaching, feedback, and performance rhythms that let every team lead grow into a strong manager
