North Yorkshire Council is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive fire safety professional to lead on fire safety strategy and assurance across the council’s estate. You will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, contractors and colleagues to drive compliant fire safety programmes and consistently improve risk management practices.

Qualifikationen

• Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety.
• Membership of the Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE) or Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM).
• Strong knowledge of current fire safety legislation, including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
• Experience developing and maintaining effective fire risk management processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a wider team.
• A commitment to continuous professional development.

We have a role which offers a unique opportunity to influence fire safety strategy across a diverse portfolio that includes offices, frontline service buildings, residential and commercial properties. About the Role Working closely with a broader compliance team, you will lead on the management and assurance of fire safety across the Council's estate. Working closely with colleagues, contractors, consultants and stakeholders, you will:

• Act as the Council's fire safety specialist.
• Oversee and quality assure fire risk assessments and fire safety reports.
• Manage external specialist contractors delivering fire safety programmes and projects.
• Undertake site inspections, audits and technical assessments.
• Monitor compliance and provide assurance that fire risks are being effectively managed.

As part of the role, you will lead site visits and projects relating to improving fire safety on those sites.

The role offers hybrid working, with your main office location being one of the main NYC office hubs- depending on which is closest to you. There will be an expectation to conduct site visits as needed, and occasional meeting in County Hall, Northallerton, however you would also be able to work from home on non-office/ site visit days.
