Strong MS Office skills and attention to detail are required, with a willingness to learn and adapt in a local government environment.
Are you a highly organised administrator who enjoys keeping processes on track, maintaining accurate records and providing excellent support? This is an exciting opportunity to join our Financial Services team and contribute to the Council's procurement and insurance functions at an important time for local government. With local government continuing to evolve, this is an exciting time to join a team that is focused on improving how services are delivered, strengthening resilience and supporting positive change for residents, businesses and communities. You will join a supportive team where your contribution will be valued, gain broader experience across two important corporate functions and play a practical part in helping to develop effective, responsive and customer-focused services for the future. About the role Reporting to the Procurement Officer and also supporting the Insurance Officer, you will provide reliable administrative, operational and customer support across procurement and insurance, as well as supporting other finance functions when required. You will help maintain effective processes, accurate records and responsive services, working with colleagues across the Council as well as suppliers, brokers, insurers and other stakeholders. Strong administration skills are essential for this role. You must be able to organise and prioritise a varied workload, monitor deadlines, produce accurate correspondence and records, use spreadsheets and databases confidently, and handle sensitive information with care. Procurement or insurance experience would be helpful, but it is not essential if you can demonstrate excellent transferable administrative skills and a willingness to learn. What you will be doing

We offer excellent working conditions including a generous holiday entitlement, a comprehensive pension scheme and access to an Employee Assistance Programme, providing advice on a range of issues including financial and legal matters, and offering discounts on purchases from numerous retail outlets. We also offer employees significantly discounted gym membership at Gedling's Leisure Centres.
