Job summary

TIENS Europe Region seeks a seasoned Financial Accountant / Finance Coordinator in Berlin to drive German statutory reporting and month-end activities. You will coordinate the Jahresabschluss, ensure HGB compliance, and partner with external tax advisors and auditors for timely filings.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on German accounting experience, fluent German and English, and ERP proficiency (SAP, Dynamics, Oracle, Datev).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting/finance experience in Germany.
• Hands-on experience coordinating Jahresabschluss and year-end closing.
• Strong knowledge of German accounting regulations (HGB).
• Experience with external tax advisors and auditors.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Accountant / Finance Coordinator to support our finance operations in Germany. Working closely with the Finance Manager and external tax advisors, you will coordinate the preparation of German annual financial statements (Jahresabschluss), ensure compliance with German accounting regulations (HGB), and support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.

This role serves as a key point of contact between internal departments, auditors, and tax advisors, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate has hands‑on accounting experience, strong knowledge of German financial regulations, and is comfortable managing full accounting processes beyond bookkeeping.

About the Role

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the preparation of German annual financial statements (Jahresabschluss) and support year-end closing activities.
• Ensure compliance with German accounting regulations (HGB) across all finance operations.
• Liaise with external tax advisors and auditors to support tax filings and audit processes.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Support financial planning, budgeting, and reporting activities.
• Oversee accounting processes beyond bookkeeping, including reconciliations and financial controls.
• Maintain accurate financial records in the ERP system (SAP / Microsoft Dynamics / Oracle).
• Prepare regular financial reports and analyses for management.
• Support finance operations across monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth finance operations.
• Support continuous improvement of finance processes and internal controls.
• Perform other finance and accounting tasks as assigned by the Finance Manager.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting/finance experience in Germany.
• Hands‑on experience coordinating German annual financial statements (Jahresabschluss) and year-end closing.
• Strong knowledge of German accounting regulations (HGB).
• Experience working with external tax advisors and auditors.
• Experience in finance operations, financial planning, budgeting and reporting, including coordinating monthly, quarterly and annual closing.
• ERP experience (SAP / Microsoft Dynamics / Oracle / Datev / One Stop Shop) and experience managing accounting processes.
• Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken; Chinese language skills are an advantage.
