Job summary

JD Ross Energy is seeking Field Service Engineers / Electrical Technicians to join our growing renewable energy team in Germany. You'll work on utility-scale solar and energy storage assets, performing maintenance, commissioning, testing, and on-site troubleshooting across multiple sites.

The role requires electrical qualifications, a full driving licence, and willingness to travel or stay overnight as needed.

Qualifications

• Electrical qualification such as Electrician, Electrical Technician, Mechatronics Technician, or similar electrical trade or technical background.
• Full driving licence is required.
• Comfortable working independently in the field.
• Willingness to travel throughout the working week, including occasional overnight stays.

Field Service Engineer / Electrical Technician | Renewable Energy | Germany

Shape the future of renewable energy while working on some of Germany's largest solar and energy storage assets.

An established and rapidly growing renewable energy service provider is expanding its national field service network and is looking for multiple Field Service Engineers / Electrical Technicians to join the team across Germany.

The business specialises in the operation, maintenance, commissioning, and optimisation of utility-scale renewable energy projects, supporting solar PV and battery energy storage systems (BESS) that play a critical role in Germany's energy transition. Due to continued growth, new project wins, and an expanding service portfolio, several positions are now available throughout the country.

Locations:

We're particularly interested in speaking with candidates based in or near:

• Papenburg / German side close to Groningen
• Bitterfeld (particularly supporting BESS projects)
• North of Konstanz

Candidates already located within these regions will be highly advantageous as the company continues to build a strong local service presence.

The Role:

This is a genuine field-service position where you'll work independently across renewable energy sites, carrying out:

• Electrical maintenance and fault-finding
• Preventative and corrective service activities
• Commissioning and testing of equipment
• Troubleshooting and technical support on-site
• Inspections and performance optimisation
• Customer-facing service activities

You'll travel directly to customer sites, solar plants, and energy storage facilities, helping to keep critical renewable energy infrastructure operating at peak performance.

What We're Looking For:

• Electrical qualification such as: Electrician, Electrical Technician, Mechatronics Technician, or similar electrical trade or technical background
• Full driving licence
• Comfortable working independently in the field
• Willingness to travel throughout the working week, including occasional overnight stays

Experience That Would Stand Out:

We'd be particularly interested in speaking with candidates from:

• Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
• Wind Energy
• Electrical Infrastructure

Strong electrical field service, maintenance, commissioning, or troubleshooting experience from other sectors will also be considered.
