About The Role

Kassel (Field-Based) – Full-time | On-site & Field Service

As a Field Service Technician, you will ensure the reliable operation of battery energy storage systems (BESS) and central inverter technology. This is a hands-on, field-based role where you will troubleshoot, maintain, and optimise critical energy infrastructure while contributing to the continuous improvement of service processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintenance & Operations: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on battery inverters and system components; support commissioning activities and occasionally assist control room operations.
• Partner & Contractor Management: Coordinate and oversee external service providers; ensure quality of work and step in to resolve issues on-site when required.
• Troubleshooting & Escalation: Diagnose and resolve technical faults in the field; escalate complex issues through structured internal processes.
• Health & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to safety standards and site regulations; promote a zero-incident culture across all activities.
• Documentation & Reporting: Record technical findings, incidents, and maintenance activities; provide structured reporting to service coordination and asset management teams.

Your Profile

• Completed vocational training in Electrical Engineering or similar
• Experience with:
  • Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
  • Photovoltaics (PV)
  • Medium voltage systems
• Industrial IT/network systems
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Fluent in German and English
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel
