Technician
Overview
As a Technician you will support the preparation, maintenance, testing, and operation of specialized mechanical and electromechanical equipment used during nuclear power plant outages worldwide. The role includes equipment repair, remote‑controlled tool operation, on‑site execution, and close collaboration with engineering teams to validate and improve new technologies. You will report to the Manager NDE & Special Products and be located at Mannheim.
Key Responsibilities
- Repair and maintenance of specialized, primarily remote‑controlled equipment (milling, drilling, Electric Discharge Machining, bolting systems etc.)
- Commissioning and testing of new designed equipment.
- Support Product and Development Engineers during testing phases (parameter development, validation, troubleshooting).
- Installation and configuration of software on computers and control units including network setup.
- On‑site operation of specialized equipment in Nuclear Power plants worldwide.
- Manufacturing or modification of Electrical and mechanical components.
- Assembly of equipment and tooling.
- Cross‑departmental and international collaboration with teams in several countries.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role as skilled worker/technician.
- Basic knowledge of computers, software installation, and networking.
- Strong mechanical and/or electrotechnical aptitude.
- Ability to read technical documentation (mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, procedures).
- English proficiency: minimum A2 required; B1 or higher preferred.
- Local language proficiency (Germany, Spain, Belgium): native level or C1/C2 equivalent.
- Problem‑solving mindset.
- Teamwork and open communication.
- Willingness to travel internationally and work in outage environments.
