Zusammenfassung

Westinghouse Electric Company in Mannheim seeks a Field Technician III to maintain and assemble bolt-replacement tools used during nuclear outages. You will troubleshoot equipment, prepare standard and backup tools, and work on-site with platform workers and engineers.

You will report to the Manager NDE & Special Products and be stationed in Mannheim, collaborating with teams across countries to ensure safe, reliable bolt installation and removal processes.

Qualifikationen

• At least 1 year of experience operating and/or maintaining bolt replacement equipment or similar complex field-service gear.
• At least 2 worldwide assignments as Platform worker for bolt replacement/Baffle, Barrel or Clevis projects.
• At least 1 worldwide assignment as Tool Specialist for bolt replacement.
• Basic computer knowledge, software installation and networking.
• Strong mechanical or electrotechnical aptitude.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams and procedures.
• English proficiency: minimum A2; B1 or higher preferred.
• Local language proficiency (Germany, Spain, Belgium, English): native/C1-C2 level.

About The Role

As a Field Technician III you will be responsible for the correct maintenance and assembling of all tools related to the baffle and clevis bolt equipment used during nuclear power plant outages worldwide. The role includes equipment trouble shooting, maintenance & preparation of all Standard and Backup tools, on‑site execution, and close collaboration with shift / jump leads, Tool Operators and platform worker. Participation in the maintenance of the bolt replacement equipment and other specialist field service equipment is also part of the role.

On‑Site the experienced field technician act as the tool specialist and is responsible for the correct maintenance, assembling and preparation of the tool needed for the replacement of bolts. They provide the correct tools to the platform worker that installs it on the machine.

You will report to the Manager NDE & Special Products and be located at Mannheim.

Key Responsibilities

• Repair and maintenance of bolt replacement equipment and especially the tools and other specialist field service equipment.
• Commissioning and testing of new parts for the bolt replacement equipment and other specialist field service equipment.
• Training of new team members and subcontractors on the tools used on the bolt replacement equipment.
• On‑site operation of the bolt replacement equipment and other Westinghouse products in Nuclear Power plants worldwide.
• Manufacturing or modification of Electrical and/or mechanical components according drawings.
• Assembly of equipment and tooling.
• Cross‑departmental and international collaboration with teams in several countries.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in the operation and/or maintenance of the bolt replacement equipment or other similar complex field service equipment.
• At least 2 jobs worldwide as Platform worker during a bolt replacement job or bolt D&D job (Baffle, Barrel or Clevis).
• At least 1 job worldwide as Tool Specialist during a bolt replacement job (Baffle or Clevis).
• Basic knowledge of computers, software installation, and networking.
• Strong mechanical and/or electrotechnical aptitude.
• Ability to read technical documentation (mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, procedures).
• English proficiency: minimum A2 required; B1 or higher preferred.
• Local language proficiency (Germany, Spain, Belgium, English): native level or C1/C2 equivalent.
