TOMRA Food is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join the EMEA North service team. You will install, commission and maintain sorting machines at customer sites, diagnosing issues and minimizing downtime.

You will travel across Germany with planned travel in Europe, bringing a hands-on mechanical background, fluency in English and German, and a customer-focused approach to service delivery.

Qualifikationen

• Mechanical education or proven practical experience in a mechanical field service role.
• Minimum 5 years of Field Service Engineer experience.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical systems (pneumatics, hydraulics, rotating equipment).
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and controls preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Willingness to travel across Germany (and some Europe) with planned travel.
• Independent, proactive and customer-focused personality.

Our EMEA North Food division is based in Leuven, Belgium, and we are always looking for passionate individuals to join our organization.For this position, residing north of Brussels is considered an advantage, although it is not a requirement.

Job Description

As a Field Service Engineer, you'll be part of the EMEA North service team and will report to the Field Service Team leader. With "Safety first" mindset throughout the daily work both at company and our customer sites you will:

• Install, commission, and maintain TOMRA sorting machines at customer sites.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electromechanical issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, upgrades, and retrofits.
• Support customers with training and best practices for daily machine operation.
• Document service activities and provide clear feedback to internal teams for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with colleagues across service, engineering, and sales to deliver a high-quality customer experience.

Qualifications

• Mechanical education (Requires secondary education diploma, preferably a subject-specific diploma)orproven practical experience in a mechanical field service role.
• Minimum5 years of experience in Field Service Engineer
• Hands-on experience with mechanical systems (pneumatics, hydraulics, rotating equipment).
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and controls preferred.
• Fluent in English and German; additional languages are an advantage.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Willingness to travel across mostly Germany (Austria, Switzerland, and occasionally other European countries - travel planned in advance).
• Comfortable working in industrial environments and on customer sites.
• Independent, proactive, and solution-oriented.
• Strong communication skills with a customer-focused mindset.
