The European Academy of Childhood-onset Disability (EACD) was founded in 1989 and is an international not-for-profit association for individuals with a clinical and/or scientific interest in childhood-onset disabilities in Europe and beyond.
EACD's mission:
To promote excellence in research and services for the benefit of people with, and at risk for, childhood-onset disabilities, and to provide multidisciplinary, state-of-the-art education for professionals active in this field in Europe and beyond.
EACD's Aims:
In furtherance of our mission, the EACD engages in the following activities:
Individuals can contribute to EACD's mission by becoming members, as many already have from various disciplines including (neuro)pediatrics, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and more.
Annual scientific meetings provide networking opportunities, access to high-quality research, and updates on events related to childhood disability in Europe and beyond.
EACD is a multidisciplinary, inclusive, and constructive community committed to education, ethics, and social engagement, bridging cultural and societal differences across Europe for the benefit of individuals with childhood-onset disabilities.

It will be held in Heidelberg, Germany, from 24-28 June 2025, featuring keynote lectures and more.
