Job summary

stoba e-Systems GmbH, based in Baden-Württemberg, seeks an experienced design engineer to develop high-precision equipment for manufacturing, focusing on functionality, cost, quality and safety.

You will create 3D CAD models, BOMs, and drawings, select components, and oversee projects from concept to handover, coordinating with multiple teams and external suppliers.

Solid Edge CAD skills and fluent German are essential, as is a structured, team-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Technical training or further education in design, mechanical engineering, automation technology, or equipment engineering.
• Several years of independent development and design of equipment, machines, and automation solutions.
• Experience implementing automation projects.
• Strong CAD skills, ideally Solid Edge or equivalent.
• Good understanding of drawings, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Familiar with safety and regulatory requirements in machinery sector.
• Excellent written and spoken German.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop equipment, fixtures, machines, and systems for manufacturing operations.
• Create technical concepts, 3D CAD models, drawings, and BOMs for new and existing equipment.
• Select mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and automation components and design them per technical requirements.
• Oversee projects from requirements gathering through design and procurement to assembly, testing, and handover to production.
• Coordinate technical solutions with Production, Industrial Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Purchasing, and Assembly, as well as with external suppliers and service providers.
• Assess technical feasibility and take manufacturing, assembly, testing, maintenance, and safety requirements into account as early as the design phase.
• Analyze technical problems and optimize existing machines, systems, and equipment in terms of process reliability, quality, ergonomics, cycle time, ease of maintenance, standardization, and costs.
• Create and maintain technical documentation such as design drawings, functional specifications, bills of materials, change logs, and approval documents.
• Support experiments, prototype builds, and functional tests, and implement necessary technical adjustments.

What You’ll Do
