DocuWare in Germany seeks an Enterprise Software Architect to shape the future of our multi-system landscape. You will define architectural standards, drive technology decisions, and ensure scalable, secure software solutions that support digital transformation across business units.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• Extensive experience in enterprise software architecture in multi-system environments.
• Proven design and implementation of complex software architectures across cloud, on-prem, and hybrid.
• Strong expertise in system integration, APIs, data architecture, security.
• Strategic thinking with hands-on mindset and ability to translate business requirements.

Responsibilities

• Shape and evolve our enterprise software architecture and technology roadmap.
• Define architecture principles, standards, and best practices for applications, integrations, and data flows.
• Evaluate, select, and design scalable, secure, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.
• Review architectures across enterprise applications, data platforms, and automation initiatives.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to drive digital transformation.
• Provide architectural guidance to cross-functional teams and key stakeholders.
• Enable seamless integration between systems, processes, and data.
• Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify emerging technologies and recommend innovations that create measurable business value.
• Drive architecture documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
• Present architecture strategies, roadmaps, and recommendations to senior leadership.

What you need to succeed

• You hold a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• You bring extensive professional experience in enterprise software architecture, solution design, or IT leadership roles, ideally in complex, multi-system environments.
• You have successfully designed and implemented complex software architectures across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
• You possess strong expertise in system integration, APIs, data architecture, security, and modern software engineering practices.
• You combine strategic thinking with a hands-on mindset and can translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• You are an influential communicator who can engage and align stakeholders at all levels, from technical experts to senior executives.
• You thrive in cross-functional environments, build strong partnerships, and drive collaboration across teams.
• Architecture certifications such as TOGAF, AWS, Azure, or comparable credentials are a plus.
