Job summary

Holt Executive Ltd is seeking an Embedded Software Developer to join an innovative engineering team developing advanced embedded technologies for satellite communications and high‑performance networking.

This role spans the full development lifecycle, from rapid prototyping to integration, testing and validation, across embedded software, SoCs, boards and custom platforms.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, CS or related field.
• 2–5+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Strong C/C++ experience; Python is a plus.
• Experience with RTOS, embedded Linux, SoCs and FPGAs.
• Familiar with board bring-up and hardware/software integration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test embedded software for SoCs, boards and hardware platforms.
• Develop drivers, middleware and apps for proofs-of-concept and prototypes.
• Integrate third-party SDKs and in-house modules for hardware/software co-design.
• Support rapid prototyping and validation of satellite and networking tech.
• Board bring-up, software integration and troubleshooting across platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and document designs and approaches.

We are looking for an Embedded Software Developer to join an innovative engineering team developing advanced embedded technologies for satellite communications and high-performance networking applications.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working close to the hardware and wants to contribute across the full development lifecycle, from rapid prototyping and proof-of-concept development through to integration, testing and validation.

You will work across embedded software, SoCs, evaluation boards and custom hardware platforms, collaborating closely with hardware and software teams to develop and integrate new technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test embedded software for SoCs, evaluation boards and custom hardware platforms.
• Develop drivers, middleware and applications to support proof-of-concept projects and system prototypes.
• Integrate third-party SDKs and in-house software modules, supporting hardware/software co-design, integration and debugging.
• Contribute to rapid prototyping and validation of new satellite communications and networking technologies.
• Support board bring-up, software integration and troubleshooting across embedded platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure successful system integration.
• Document software designs, integration approaches and development best practices.

About You

You will ideally have:

• A degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 2–5+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Strong programming experience with C/C++; Python experience would be advantageous.
• Experience working with RTOS, embedded Linux, SoCs and FPGAs.
• Experience with board bring-up, embedded drivers and hardware/software integration.
• Familiarity with communication protocols such as Ethernet, TCP/IP and 3GPP 5G/6G.
• Experience using Git and modern software development workflows.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Very good English; basic German would be advantageous.
