Role Overview

We’re seeking an Embedded Linux Software Engineer to join their core development team in Munich. You’ll play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining Linux-based embedded software running on cutting‑edge hardware platforms. This role combines hands‑on low‑level development with opportunities to influence system architecture and contribute to product design.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, and maintain Embedded Linux systems for custom hardware platforms.
• Configure and customise Linux kernel, device drivers, and bootloaders (U‑Boot).
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (hardware, QA, DevOps) to deliver stable and performant embedded solutions.
• Debug and optimise system performance, memory usage, and power consumption.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines for embedded deployments.
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and design discussions.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3–6 years’ experience in Embedded Linux software development.
• Strong proficiency in C / C++ for low‑level programming.
• Hands‑on experience with Linux kernel configuration, device tree, and driver development.
• Familiarity with Yocto, Buildroot, or other build systems.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, and debugging tools (GDB, strace, perf, etc.).
• Solid understanding of hardware‑software integration, memory management, and multithreading.
• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• English fluency required; German language is a plus.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to real‑time operating systems (RTOS) or embedded security.
• Experience with Python or Bash scripting for automation.
• Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, CAN, MQTT).
• Interest in open‑source development or contributions to Linux kernel projects.
